What’s a Chatbot Personality Design Sprint?
It’s a part of the Chatbot Design Sprint but works as a solo tool as well. It’s a way to define a chatbots personality as a team.
For chatbot agencies that simply replace existing conversations – you don’t need to develop the chatbots functionality – the only thing you need is defining the personality. It takes about 2-3 hours.

Expression of the personality in a chatbot conversation
Using Personality cards, the team defines the personality of the brand, and the personality of the person using the chatbot. Then the team defines whether the chatbots personality is closer to the brands personality or the persons personality. Based on that the team selects Personality cards for the chatbot.
PHASE 1: brand personality & the personality of the person using the chatbot
PHASE 2: SPECIFYING THE PERSONALITY
The team specifies the selected Personality cards by adding Attribute cards. Furthermore, the team identifies a famous person that best summarises the selected Personality cards and Attribute cards, for example, Michelle Obama.
Using conversation modules, the team creates a conversation that includes the personality.
PHASE 3: CONVERSATION
PHASE 4: USER TEST AND ITERATION
The team tests phase 3 and 2 with users, or at least with someone outside their team. Considering the feedback the team improves the solution. Voila, you defined your chatbots personality.
